A great digestif. Adding ice or water will bring out the multi-layered aroma and flavour of the drink.
Color
Pale straw color.
Scent
Intense aroma with explosive notes of charcoal, creosote, tar and toffee molasses, curious hints of something vegetal, such as fennel, celery and green pepper. As these subside, elements of milk chocolate, anise and wood smoke emerge. With a drop of water, some more herbal notes emerge, such as coriander and lavender, along with some characteristic aromas of wood smoke and fresh salty sea breeze. With the addition of water, oceanic minerality awakens. Elements of waxed lemon and lime, beeswax, pine needles, toasted vanilla, cinnamon, hazelnut and almond sound.
Taste
A distinctly peppery taste develops into a complex symphony of molasses, toffee, anise, salted caramel, chocolate, eucalyptus, menthol and briar. The tingling peppery sensation has a lingering effect. Sweeter flavours give way to more savoury notes of charcoal, smoked bacon, burnt toast and tar. The finish is long and persistent, with elements of peppermint and clove.
