This is a great whisky neat or on the rocks.
Color
The color is golden yellow.
Scent
Slightly acidic with pomegranate, lychee and a fair amount of blackberry, as well as floral notes like rosewater. Haribo Chamallow too. Then finally a nose of olive brine, peanuts, wet wool and cattle feed. And yes, there is a hint of campfire and peat, but this is definitely not your average Ardbeg.
Taste
A bit ashy at first, then chilli and vegetal peat, followed by brine, vanilla and oak tannins. A gentle acidity is accompanied by a vinous sweetness, but overall the wine's influence seems more minimal. The finish is medium length, a bit dry, with pleasant spicy notes, green peat and resin.
