Description
Compatibility
Serve neat at room temperature (20–22 °C); at cask strength a little water softens the smoke and brings out the sweetness. Pairs with smoked fish, oysters, blue cheese and a cigar.
Color
Pale gold.
Scent
Smoke up front, then pear drops, vanilla and a gentle earthiness; the peat is present but not overpowering.
Taste
Powerful at full strength; with water it turns sweet, with vanilla and a lingering sweet tobacco note. The heavily peated whisky from Edradour distillery in Perthshire: distilled in February and March 2004, matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and bottled in March 2024 at cask strength as a small batch of 2,018 bottles.
