Candied raspberries, creme de cassis and blood oranges on the nose that are ripe and sun-dried, but still vivid, together with some cinnamon spice and hints of caramel and mushroom savoriness. The palate is tight and juicy with very fine tannins that seamlessly knit the palate, leading to a long yet subtle and elegant finish. This is really something! Drink or hold.
Wine Spectator
An elegant Amarone, fresh and focused despite more than 10 years of age. Shows fine balance between ripe black cherry and rich cherry liqueur notes, a profile enmeshed with supple tannins and delicate accents of warm bread, milled pink peppercorn, iron and dried sage. Reveals lightly dusty tannins on the lingering finish. Drink now through 2028. 300 cases made, 100 cases imported.
