Medium- to full-bodied, subdued and elegant, showing harmony, refined fruit, freshness and tannins that are polished and focused in the finish of generous, polished fruit. A beautiful, elegant, balanced Pauillac. Drinking exceptionally well now, but it will go on and on. Drink or hold. 10 Years On retrospective.
Wine Spectator
This offers the best of both sides of Pauillac, with a deep, deep well of dark currant, fig, blackberry and black cherry paste flavors forming a lush side while a series of I-beams made of graphite and iron provide the rigid structure. The two sides meld, pulling in extra sweet tobacco, smoldering cast iron, juniper and savory notes on the finish, leaving a mouthwatering feel. A real stunner. Best from 2025 through 2045. 16,000 cases made.
Description
Compatibility
The wine will perfectly complement red meat and game dishes, be it beef medallions, venison with berry sauce or lamb in herbs. Smoked meats, stuffed poultry, Parma ham and mature blue cheeses are also good gastronomic pairings.

The wine is purple-black in color.
Scent
The delightful, incredibly abundant aroma of the wine is filled with magnificent tones of kirsch, siren, black raspberry, black currant, nuances of cigar box, sweet tobacco, wet earth, rose hip tea, cedar, cloves, licorice, lead pencil, as well.
Taste
The wine has a full, strong, powerful, ripe, juicy taste with high acidity and a lot of tannins. Surprisingly intense and deep notes of black fruits and flowers are complemented by pleasant freshness. The aftertaste is incredibly long.
