Deep and typical on the nose with blackcurrants, black tea, leather and graphite. The aromas draw you down to the palate. Full-bodied, creamy and beautiful with extremely polished, refined tannins. Yet, it’s powerful and long. Highest percent of cabernet sauvignon ever. Juicy and almost exotic, but very tidy with ripe tannins. Try after 2025 and onwards.

This is a youthful tumble of warmed black currant, fig and blackberry paste flavors, entwined with bay leaf, tobacco, savory, lilac, smoldering charcoal and warm cast iron notes. Terrific stony minerality zips everything up for now, but riveting acidity and excellent energy should carry this easily in the cellar. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Best from 2025 through 2040. 16,000 cases made.

Compatibility
Chateau Lafite Rothschild will perfectly complement red meat and game dishes, whether it be beef medallions, venison with berry sauce or lamb in herbs. Foie gras, smoked meats, stuffed poultry, Parma ham and mature blue cheeses are also good as a gastronomic pair. Before tasting old Château Lafite Rothschild wines, it is necessary to decant them in 1-2 hours, but young wines take much longer to open up, therefore, depending on the vintage, it is better to decant them in 2-24 hours.

Intense ruby purple color.
Scent
The intense aroma reveals classic notes of graphite, intertwined with notes of licorice, blackcurrant liqueur, smoke and flowers.
Taste
The excellent 2003 Château Lafite Rothschild has a rich, powerful flavor with an extremely high tannin content and remarkable length. The surprisingly soft and sweet taste captivates with juicy fruity tones of ripe cherries, plums and red currants, to which are added spicy notes of coffee, tobacco and dark chocolate, as well as fresh hints of cedar and minerals.
