The Nikolajhof 2020 Grüner Veltliner Hefeabzug balances the delicate yeasty notes of a six-month barrel aging with bell-clear ripe stone fruit. Apples and green hard pears are fortified with herbal notes of sage and burnet. The unadorned nose suggests joyful and typical Veltliner pleasure with an uncomplicated character without losing its seriousness.
Taste
Its taste is initially controlled by yeast, which gives it a creamy taste and a special texture. Then the fruit appears, reduced to the most necessary, without a sprawling juicy ornament. Possessing good extractivity and mobile acidity, it combines softness and excellent persistence on the palate. Of the fruits in it, only the aroma of the skin, all this is accompanied by salty notes in the aftertaste.
