Scent
The start of the La Historia brings notes of chocolate and nougat.The retrohale of the cigar is spiced and the finish of the cigar has a strong coffee and sherry cask hit. Deeply impressive to start things off. In the middle, some of the sherry cask notes are noticed on the palate. However, the primary note is coffee with hints of wood and nuts. The deep cherry like sweetness moves to the palate but it is more of an afterthought as the primary notes remain deep chocolate . The final part sees the silky chocolate notes remain constant, with a sherry cask like sweetness. The pepper flurries to the nose, and it’s the strongest as the cigar comes to an end, but there is also chestnut aromas as well on the moderate to long finish on this outstanding cigar.
Taste
Sweet notes of baked apple, cinnamon, roasted nuts and a touch of nougat linger on the palate before the long, toasty finish. There’s a slight resistance on the draw.
