Talisker 45 YO Glacial Edge is an ultra-rare release from Talisker and the final chapter of the experimental Wilder Seas Collection. Matured for 45 years, the whisky received a unique finishing process in casks charred using ancient volcanic rock and ice sourced from Canadian glacial regions, inspiring the name Glacial Edge. The project was created in partnership with Parley for the Oceans and dedicated to the protection of marine ecosystems. Produced in extremely limited quantities, the release is presented in a sculptural gift box that reinforces its luxury collectible status. Talisker describes the whisky as a meeting point between the wild maritime character of the Isle of Skye and the icy purity of glacial landscapes.

Seasoned wood on the nose, plus cedar, salty oak, and lime. Remarkably perfumed for such an old whisky, with a bit of tobacco, citrus, and semi-ripe banana. Tobacco on the velvety palate and more sea influence, brine, and seaweed, as well as honey, lemon, hazelnut, vanilla, orange peel, salted caramel, and brown sugar. Bright, fresh, lively, balanced, and deep, with a long finish. Uber-aged scotches can sometimes disappoint, but this is an exceptional dram.
